Frequently Asked Questions

What are the next steps in operating as a combined organization?

Teams across the health system are working together to build strategies to bring the core components of our organization together to create the best care possible for the people of Wisconsin and beyond. Our teams have made incredible progress in optimizing the ways we work collaboratively, and to truly operate as a combined organization will take time.

Why are ThedaCare and Froedtert Health the right match?

As two long-standing Wisconsin-based health care organizations, Froedtert Health and ThedaCare know each other well. Before we became a combined organization, we had an established quaternary partnership, that included the Medical College of Wisconsin, to enhance access to the most advanced levels of specialty care, as well as a joint venture to create two new health campuses in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. Our commitment to the people of Wisconsin, reputation for exceptional patient care and our aligned mission, vision and cultures made combining our organizations a natural next step. Together, we are building a brighter health care future for Wisconsin and beyond, while continuing to nurture the investments in and well-being of our respective communities.

How is this combination making a difference for our communities?

As one organization, we are meeting our patients where they are with the care they need at every step of their health care journey. The recent groundbreakings on our new campuses in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh are examples of how coming together is bringing coordinated access to all levels of care for our communities.

What are the aspirations for the future of the combined health system?

With Wisconsin values, people and communities at the core, our aspirations for the combined organization are clear. We will:

  • Help the people of Wisconsin live their best, unique lives by predicting and preventing disease and adding value to sustainably contribute to the well-being of our communities.
  • Extend the impact of our partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin by enhancing the relationship and amplifying their mission of “education, research, patient care and community engagement.”
  • Honor and grow the strong legacies of clinical excellence and community commitment by providing exceptional safety, reliability, equity, coordination and accessibility for all communities in Wisconsin.
  • Be based in Wisconsin, led by people who live and work in Wisconsin, building the capabilities, reputation and scale to attract talent, marquee name brands and technology disrupters.
  • Deliver real value and bring innovative solutions for the health care needs of our state and communities, by deploying integrated digital and data capabilities and supporting continuous improvement of quality, value and experiences.
